Caring for carpet

  1. Wash out stains immediately
Most stains only become stains if you leave them for an extended period. If you wash stains out with 24 hours there will usually be no mark. For best result wash them out immediately.
For water soluble stains - pour a small amount of water over the stain so a pool of water just covers the stain. Lightly rub the water into the stain with the tip of your finger so the water mixes with the stain. Press a towel firmly on the stain to absorb the water. Repeat until the stain is gone. Vacuum thoroughly and again when completely dry.

  2. Remove furniture dents
Pour a small amount of water over the dent so a pool of water just covers the dent (or place ice cubes on the dent and let them melt). Wait for 2 or 3 hours for the water to soak in to the carpet and soften the fibres (so it's not pooled on the top any more). Using a fork, gently push the fork between the fibres and lift them. Try not to scrape the fork across the carpet because you will pull out some of the fibres.
